There is no blur background option in my pc though virtual background works and i have updated zoom on the latest version I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing.

If you are on the latest version of Zoom, it is possible that the windows device you are on does not meet the requirements:. If your device does meet the requirements, please verify that you are logged into your Zoom desktop client with your Zoom account. I hope this helps!

Hello ajaypande. I have a 2-yr-old Macbook Air intel based and another much older PC laptop. The blur option is available in the latter and I can’t get it on the Macbook no matter what I do. I can understand what I’m missing and it’s a little annoying. I have the same Macbook Air Intel Core i5 2 cores I have downloaded new app and new apple software and still no luck. Any suggestions Zoom? Is this not supported? Zoom client version 5.

Ah I’m not alone! Same, other virtual background all work but I have no “blur” option! Everything is updated! I also have a Mac Air with 1. Same problem with a macbook pro, everything is updated macOs Monterey I’m facing the same. I have a Dell – Windows 11Pro. Same problem with a Macbook Air, everything is updated macOs Monterey I am also looking for this feature in my PC because I feel much awkward to show the background of my room so just looking to hide it a little more please help me to do it.

Hi ajaypande jdott16 is correct you must have those device specifications. I think this meets the specifications, but still no blur option on my Mac Air. This is not user friendly at all. I don’t have blur and have the latest Zoom and latest MAC software update. I even restarted the program and nothing. There is no blur. I cannot believe this fiasco! So many having the same issue as me and not a peep out of Zoom who has been touting their newest feature which doesn’t work!

I screwed around for half an hour on my Windows 10 bit machine, and all of a sudden, a pop-up, I installed it, and there it was!

But I have no idea what I did to invoke it. Thereafter, I have been trying to find this patch, to no avail.. Time to move on to some other software. I as well am not able to see a blur option on my virtual backgrounds menu on my laptop. I have updated Zoom to version 5.

Would greatly appreciate any help which could be provided. Same problem I have downloaded what seems to be the latest version, as no download came with the Pro upgrade.

Called support but apparently Pro doesn’t include technical support. Extremely frustrated You do not need to have a pro account to use “blur background”. I see that no comment here has been accepted as a solution for this, so I thought I would weigh in! If you cannot turn off the green screen option for virtual background, then your computer will not be compatible with the blur background feature. It is however an excellent starting point, and if your hardware is lower than the minimums listed here you will not be able to use “blur background” or “virtual background without a green screen”.

Thanks Micah! I do see now the blur option requires a processor of i5 or above and mine is just i3. I don’t know why I didn’t notice that requirement earlier. Anyway, at least I have the explanation now. The processor being an i5 is only half the story, just as important is how old the processor is, how many cores the processor has, and what GPU is paired with it.

If the blur background feature is missing from Zoom, the most likely reason for it aside from needing a software update is that your computer isn’t new enough or powerful enough for it. I currently have the same issue. No option to blur my background. And Yes I meet all the requirements to blur my background. I do not even have an option key to blur it, so this shows me it is an issue on Zoom’s end. Please fix and let me know.

And is your Zoom account part of an organization that may have disabled all kinds of Virtual backgrounds?

View solution in original post. On behalf of the Zoom Community team, we wanted to thank you all for the helpful contributions made on this topic. Because of the insightful feedback shared here on this community post, we were able to create a new support article that outlines how to troubleshoot when the Zoom blurred background option is not available. It is not part of an organization, and it does meet those system requirements.

This is why I’m stumped. It’s probably one little thing I’m overlooking, and I’m at the point that I’m just not finding it on my own. Virtual background is toggled on there. I wonder if I just need to uninstall and reinstall the desktop app. Uninstalled and reinstalled, and that didn’t resolve it.

So there’s probably some little thing somewhere that I’m not finding that Zoom doesn’t like. Meanwhile, I have a different basic account on a PC at work, and there’s no trouble with backgrounds there.

Looks like it is down to putting both machines side by side and comparing settings line by line.. I HATE when that has to be done, but sometimes it is the only way Background Blur works perfectly with Google Meet!! I checked those to the extent possible.

In some cases, I follow the directions to the point where I don’t have a tab or something that they say you should have. Maybe that’s a paid vs. Hello, I have a similar problem. I have Zoom Version: 5. I have looked for a solution in the Zoom community, upgraded Zoom, signed out, restarted the computer and the blurred option is still NOT available.

Can you help me? Thanks in advance. I have the same problem. I can’t find the blurred background option and I checked all the system and Zoom version requirements.

I am also unable to set “blurred background” using latest version of Zoom v 5. The option does not even appear. I would certainly appreciate a fix. Same problem here. Well, I have finally found the cause, which unfortunately seems definite.

The system requires 6th generation i5 processor, and my MacBook has 5th generation. To all of those having the same problem, check the processor’s generation. If it’s not 6th or later, you will have to settle like me with pristine backgrounds or get yourself a green screen.

I also cannot use a virtual background. I was able to add photos to be used as virtual backgrounds but when I click on them or any of the standard virtual backgrounds that come with Zoom I get a message that says “Your device requires a green screen to support virtual backgrounds. Yes, same here. Well, glad it’s not just me but man I sure spent a lot of time looking for what they SAY should be an option! Well if diegol is correct, then, Zoom people, you need to be MUCH more specific about what Intel processors will work.

Mine says “1. You should see the None and the Blur boxes but you have to click on the Download above them first to install the software. Let us know if it worked. Sorry, it didn’t work. I have the same problem as others, not being able to use Blur background though all the requirements are met. I have a Macbook Pro mid with a 5th generation Intel processor link.

For some reason a 6th generation is required by Zoom link. Dear Zoom Team, if they can do it for my laptop, you can as well. Thank you! I found the solution for the blurr situation! I was just offered to upgrade to the newest version of zoom and when I did… the blur option now miraculously comes up.

Does anyone know how to actually get someone from tech support on the phone or chat? I’m having the same problem.

Checking with Apple Support and have all the right specs. I also have checked my version of Zoom and have the right version there as well. So I really need to talk with tech support through zoom.

Any help on how to connect with someone and not a BOT would be so appreciated! Thank you. I have the same concern as everyone here. I can’t use the blurred background.
